Tammy Currie-Bjornson Obituary, Tammy Currie-Bjornson Has Peacefully Passed Away

Tammy Currie-Bjornson Obituary, Death – Tammy Lynn Currie-Bjornson, 56, of Lower South River, Antigonish County, died in the QEII Health Sciences Centre on January 30, 2023. She was a member of the Antigonish County United Church (New Halifax Infirmary). She was the deceased daughter of Katherine Ann Layes (MacDonald) and Allan William Currie. Her hometown is Halifax.

Tammy was a frequent at the Antigonish McDonald’s, and she always had a smile on her face. She enjoyed shooting pictures, gardening, and caring for her houseplants, but she despised having her picture taken. Her favorite flower was sunflowers. She spent her leisure time with her loved ones and friends, participating in activities of her choosing, and having a great time in general. Tammy has a reputation for being open and honest with everyone. She was unconcerned with other people’s perceptions of her or theirs of her, and she always gave those around her the benefit of the doubt. She didn’t always have much to give, but if she noticed someone in need, she’d give them her clothes.

She also left her door open, ready to assist anyone who entered. Above all, Tammy’s love for her children took precedence over anything else. Her stepdaughter, Lesley Wallace, lives in Truro, as do her sons, Timmy Partridge (Krista), Stefan Bjornson (Katie), and Kris Bjornson (Stephanie); her grandkids, Twyla and Maxine; her brothers, Dwayne (Shannon) and Jeff (Jen); and her sisters, Kara, Brenda, and Tonia. Her lover, John Allan Wallace, her grandson, Bishop Bjornson, her stepfather, Alex Layes, and her grandparents, Rose and Ira Colburne, also predeceased her. All of these people passed away before she was born.

Visitation will be conducted on Sunday from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and again from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM at C.L. Curry Funeral Home, 135 College Street, Antigonish. Father John Barry will officiate at a funeral liturgy at St. Peter’s Church in Tracadie on Monday at 11:00 a.m. The funeral will be place in St. Patrick’s Cemetery in Merland in the spring.
