Rita Bisogno Obituary, Beloved Resident Of Avalon Has Died

Rita Bisogno Obituary, Death – Rita Bisogno, a treasured member of our community who lived here for 99 years, died away recently, and it is with a heavy heart that we share the news of her passing with you. The 20th of March, 2006 marked the day that Rita moved into the Avalon, making her our resident with the longest continuous stay.

The concept that the Avalon should be rechristened “The Rita” was a frequent joke among Rita and her close circle of friends. During the first several years of her employment at The Avalon, Rita spent a significant amount of time actively participating in and on occasion instructing a variety of cooking seminars. She was successful in getting The Avalon to cultivate a vegetable garden for a period of time so that she might have access to fresh basil and tomatoes during that time.

Because Rita had such a good time working at The Avalon, she began to consider that building to be her home and the people who worked there to be her extended family. We are all deeply saddened by Rita’s passing because she played such a significant role in all of our lives here at Avalon, both as a resident and as a member of the Avalon staff. During this trying time, I pray that Rita’s daughters, Lucille and Mary, may be able to find some measure of inner calm.
