Billy Selmon Obituary, Bates College Basketball Player Has Died, GoFundMe

Billy Selmon Obituary, Death – Billy Earl Selmon, Jr., 29, died on January 28, 2023, as a result of an unexpected hospital visit and emergency stomach surgery. He died at home, surrounded by his family. Billy Selmon was born on March 12, 1993 in Mableton, Georgia to Angela and Bill Selmon.

Billy graduated from Pace Academy in 2011 and moved on to Bates College to study economics and play basketball, where he graduated in 2015. Billy worked in property management in Boston, MA after graduation, then in banking in Brewer, Maine, and most recently as a retirement advisor at Empower. Billy began dating Hillary Throckmorton in 2014 after meeting her at Bates. They lived in Boston, Maine, and Atlanta, traveled the world, pampered their beloved dog Kobe, and purchased their first home together. They will marry on August 28, 2021, in Dedham, Maine, and their first child is due in May 2023. Everyone knows Billy would have made an excellent father.

Billy enjoyed Shad Nation basketball as well as golf and music. Billy was always on the go, whether he was walking Kobe, going to the gym, or playing pick-up basketball. He also liked to cook, had a green thumb, and was the HOA board’s newest member. Billy, one of the healthiest and most active people we knew, could also be seen with a burger, fries, and a cold beverage while constantly monitoring his fantasy football teams. Billy’s radiant smile and contagious laugh will be missed. People were drawn to Billy because of his friendliness and easygoing demeanor. Everyone adored him, especially his younger brother Kenny. Billy was highly regarded as an exceptional husband, father, son, brother, teammate, coworker, and friend. Every everyone who knew Billy has a tale about how amazing he made them feel.

Billy is survived by his wife Hillary, their unborn child, and their dog Kobe, as well as his parents, Angela and Bill Selmon, brother Kenny Selmon, grandparents Melvin and Dorothy (deceased) James, Louise and Watt Sr. (deceased) Selmon; aunts and uncles Anthony and Jamesetta James; Glenda (deceased) and Val O’Neal; Perry and Earlene Sullivan; Bernard and Julia Ann Sullivan; Dwayne A private viewing for family and close friends will be held at Murray Brothers Funeral Home in Atlanta on Friday, February 3 from 5:00 to 6:00 pm, followed by a wake from 6:00 to 7:00 pm. On Saturday, February 4, at 11:00 a.m., a Celebration of Life will be place at Word of Faith Cathedral, 212 Riverside Pkwy, Austell, GA. Pace Academy, 966 W.
