Ruth Oakes Obituary, 83 Years-Old, Ruth Oakes Has Sadly Passed Away

Ruth Oakes Obituary, Death – Ruth Elizabeth Oakes, who resided in Monticello and was 83 years old at the time of her passing on January 23, 2023, was taken from this world.

Her parents, Harold Day and Roberta (Elliot) Day were residents of Sand Gap, Kentucky at the time of their daughter Ruth Day’s birth on June 25, 1939. Ruth was their only child. In spite of the fact that Ruth enjoyed having people over to her home, spending time with her own family was what brought her the most joy. She also enjoyed spending time with her spouse riding motorcycles and boating on Lake Cumberland with her husband, their children, and other members of the family.

Ruth is survived by her children Randy Oakes (and his wife Sandy), Chuck Oakes (and his wife Carolyn), Becky Plessinger (and her husband Gary), and Cindy Dunn (and her husband Tom); his grandchildren Tiffany, John Randall, Danny, Josh, Jessie, and Sarah; her great-grandchildren Ryder, Jenna, Parker, Tucker, Tanner, Joshua, Maddi, Logan, Easton, Eden, Grace, Cason, Tate, and Abby; and many other
Ruth’s parents and husband, Charles E. Oakes, as well as her son, Douglas Oakes, and three of her siblings, Joan Winkler, Eadie Spivey, and Billie Phelps, all passed away before she did. Ruth’s son, Douglas Oakes, also passed away before she did.

A viewing will be held at the Brown Dawson Flick Funeral Home on the evening of Tuesday, January 31, 2023, beginning at five in the evening and continuing until seven in the evening. The visitation will take place. Funeral services are scheduled to take place at the Brown Dawson Flick Funeral Home in Hamilton, Ohio on February 1, 2023, at eleven in the morning local time. The funeral home can be found at 1350 Millville Avenue. The ceremony is going to be presided over by her daughter, Cindy Dunn. Following the conclusion of the service, the interment will take place in Rose Hill Burial Park. In lieu of sending flowers, those who wish to show their condolences may do so by making a contribution to the Hospice of Cumberland.
