Jake Connolly Obituary, Death – Jake William Connolly, 17, died in Hamilton on Thursday, January 19, 2023. The adored son of Paula and Logan Connolly. Daniel (Jen) and Steven’s adored younger brother (Maddie). Dylan and Jamison regard him as a special uncle. His grandparents, Maria and Aldo Di Pietro, as well as Georgena Morris, will sadly miss him. He is considered a nephew by Mass Di Pietro (Lynda), Lucy Ciancone (Dave), Pat Corrin (Martin), and Joanne Duckworth (Bob). Many of Jake’s cousins, friends, and the entire community will remember and cherish him. Jake was a sparkling blinding light who made everyone’s day better.
He helped so many others in such an inspiring, altruistic manner, all while wearing his gorgeous smile. Jake was wise above his years, displaying maturity, love, compassion, respect, and trust. Jake’s kind, responsible heart lovingly protected ours by leaving us all with a lifetime of love and beautiful memories to cherish and help us cope with our loss. Jake’s legacy and reputation will go on, and we will strive to live our lives to meet his level of greatness. Jake was universally adored and will live on in our hearts forever. Jake was a strong, clever young man who was driven to succeed in whatever he set his mind to.
He was a Sensei and a black belt in Karate with a passion for teaching, inspiring, mentoring, and making a difference in the lives of so many young kids. He was a fantastic role model for everyone. He was also a grade 12 honor roll student who had recently been accepted to university and was thinking about a career in law enforcement. The Ontario Justice Education Network presented Jake with the renowned Collegiality Award.
He also belonged to the Law Society and was on the Graduation Committee. Jake was certified in Red Cross First Aid and CPR. Visitation will be conducted from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 28th at Bay Gardens Funeral Home – « William J. Markey Chapel », 947 Rymal Road East, HAMILTON (905.574.0405). Jake’s Celebration of Life Service will be held at Bay Gardens Funeral Home Chapel at 1:00 p.m. Donations in lieu of flowers can be donated to Global Martial Arts Academy’s yearly Karate Student Sponsorship Program, which was established in Jake Connolly’s memory and honor.
