Starkes Lucille Obituary, Death – Rosalynn, a devoted wife, sister, aunt, friend, and ladybug collector, died suddenly. Rosalynn died at the Southwood Hospice in Calgary, Alberta, at the age of 68, after a long battle with cancer. Wayne, her devoted husband, was beside her, loving her and kissing her on the cheek gently.
Rosalynn was born at Calgary General Hospital on November 7, 1954. She was William and Vera Horne’s youngest child. She went to Reed Ranch Elementary School before transferring to Olds Jr-Sr High School.

Rosalynn moved to Calgary to work, first at Rothmans and then at KPMG. She volunteered for the Calgary Olympic Winter Games in 1988.

Rosalynn’s life was complete when she married Wayne Starkes, her one and only love, on October 27, 1990. Their 32-year marriage was filled with deep love and devotion, adventure and travel, and many happy, routine days spent simply being together. She loved Europe, but she was an Alberta girl who loved the mountains and prairies and considered Alberta to be her home. Auntie Rose adored and was adored by numerous nieces and nephews (including great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews!) She enjoyed playing,

caring for others, and encouraging them. She was an ardent supporter and cheerleader. She has made a difference in the lives of many children. She included her chosen family because she was so full of love. Vincent and Meghan Sweeny, along with their mother Cathy, adopted nephews Aaron, Luke, and Travis Horanski, and adopted grandchildren Amelia and Jonathan Lochet, along with their parents Ben and Lisa.
