Fred Sube Obituary, Death – The news that a member of our Ontelaunee family has passed away has filled our hearts with sorrow, and we have recently become aware of the passing of this family member. A dear friend of ours named Fred Sube, who had recently moved on to the next exciting chapter in his life, passed away. In addition to the Berks County league, Fred was a consistent participant in the Lehigh Valley league as well.
He was a genuine winner and a lifelong member of the ATA, having taken part in a significant number of the organization’s competitions at the state and regional levels. When he went to the Grand American, which was located in Vandalia, Ohio, he knew he would get to see all of his friends there. He looked forward to it. It is not possible to list all of his accomplishments as a trap shooter, but some of the highlights include multiple veteran and senior veteran trophies, as well as a top 10 finish in the LVTL.
It is impossible to list all of his accomplishments as a trap shooter. Since the 1960s, between the two of them, he and his wife Edwina have missed only a small handful of league shoots and banquets. Fred was always eager to lend a helping hand to those shooters who were in need of developing their skills. Because of his unwavering commitment to the sport of trap shooting and the integrity and fair play that he exemplified in his role as a trap referee, he established himself as a role model for those who followed in his footsteps.
Everyone who had the honor of knowing him and the opportunity to spend time with him over the years will remember him fondly and will miss him. On behalf of each and every member of the Ontelaunee family, please accept our sincerest condolences and pass them along to his wife Edwina, daughter Renee, sister Sylvia, and the rest of his family. We will honor his legacy by achieving some objectives that were thought to be impossible in the past.
On Monday, those who wish to pay their respects to the deceased are invited to do so at the Jefferies Funeral Home in Weatherly between the hours of 12:30 and 1:00 pm. A memorial service honoring the life of the person who has passed away will immediately follow the visitation.
